Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 June 2026

1. About This Agreement

Welcome to Domestic Staff App(“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using this platform — whether through our website, mobile web browser, or any related digital service — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2019 (FCCPA), the Labour Act (Cap. L1 LFN 2004), and where applicable, the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (NDPR).

2. Nature of Our Service

Domestic Staff App is a placement and introduction agency. We connect customers (“Employers”) with vetted domestic service personnel (“Service Personnel” or “SPs”) in Abuja, FCT. We are not a staffing agency, employer, or labour contractor. We do not employ any Service Personnel listed on the platform, and we are not party to any employment agreement formed between you and a Service Personnel.

Any employment relationship created following an introduction through our platform is solely between the Employer and the Service Personnel. Domestic Staff App accepts no liability for the conduct, performance, or acts of any Service Personnel after placement.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under Nigerian law to use this platform. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

4. KYC Verification and Tiers

All Service Personnel on the platform have undergone identity checks conducted in person by our field verification officers (OFVOs). We operate two verification tiers:

  • Tier 1 — Verified: Government-issued ID confirmed, phone number verified, guarantor details obtained.
  • Tier 2 — Enhanced: All Tier 1 checks plus a verified residential address or verifiable employer reference.

Verification is a risk-mitigation measure, not a guarantee of suitability or future conduct. Customers are encouraged to conduct their own reference checks before committing to a placement.

5. Fees and Payments

All fees are stated in Nigerian Naira (₦) and are processed securely via Paystack. Fees are non-refundable except as stated below.

  • Interview Fee (Phone or Physical): Charged before an interview is booked. Non-refundable once the interview is confirmed. If an interview is cancelled by us, the fee will be credited to your next booking.
  • Placement Fee: Charged when you proceed to place a Service Personnel. This fee is non-refundable after the Service Personnel has commenced work.

If a placement does not work out within the agreed notice period and for reasons documented with us, we will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement at no additional placement fee, subject to availability. This is a goodwill commitment, not a legal guarantee.

In the event of a failed or disputed payment, please contact us at domesticstaffapp@gmail.com within 14 days of the transaction.

6. User Responsibilities

As a customer on this platform, you agree to:

  • Treat all Service Personnel with dignity and respect, consistent with Nigerian labour law.
  • Not use contact details or personal information obtained through this platform for any purpose other than the relevant placement.
  • Not reproduce, resell, or redistribute any profile information or platform content.
  • Not engage, approach, or attempt to re-hire a Service Personnel outside this platform for a period of 12 months from the date of initial introduction, without our prior written consent.
  • Comply with all applicable employment laws, including the Labour Act (Cap. L1 LFN 2004), regarding wages, working hours, and leave entitlements.

7. Service Personnel Obligations

Service Personnel registered on the platform agree to provide accurate personal information, submit to the required verification process, act professionally during and after any interview facilitated through us, and notify us if their employment status, address, or contact details change.

Providing false information during registration or verification is grounds for immediate removal from the platform and may constitute a criminal offence under the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Domestic Staff App shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss, damage, theft, injury, or harm caused by a Service Personnel before, during, or after placement.
  • Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from use of the platform.
  • Interruptions to the platform due to maintenance, technical failures, or force majeure events.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Domestic Staff App or its licensors and is protected under Nigerian copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without our express written permission.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent behaviour, or use the platform in a manner harmful to other users or to Service Personnel. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid.

11. Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to first contact us at domesticstaffapp@gmail.com to resolve any dispute informally. If the matter cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may refer it to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act (Cap. A18 LFN 2004) in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. The language of arbitration shall be English. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer under the FCCPA 2019.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email or an in-app notice at least 7 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute not resolved by arbitration shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, FCT.
